About this site
archivum is a repository of work by Jeremy P. Bushnell (novelist / visual artist / inverterate notetaker / zinester). That's me, hi. It serves as the new home and permanent archive for the Wednesday Investigations , and it also serves as the new base for collages and other visual work.
Much of this work has previously been posted to sites like Substack and Instagram. I've grown increasingly wary, though, of entrusting my work to for-profit platforms, which seem ever more willing to make unethical choices in order to maintain a steady flow of monetized, algorithmically massaged content. I've written more about why I've stopped posting work to those platforms here and here.
archivum doesn't just serve as a replacement for existing digital projects; it also provides access to segments of my ongoing work that have never been presented online before: it serves as a counterpart to my mail art/zine distribution project, Packet of Noises, and also as a gateway to an long-running notetaking project, Unfinished Everything.
It's built using the open-source content management system Ghost, which is maintained by the not-for-profit Ghost Foundation.
Subscribe to the digest
In keeping with the spirit of the Wednesday Investigations, digest posts will go out to subscribers on semi-regular Wednesdays, filling you in on what's been added to the site. You won't ever be emailed more than once a week, and the digest will keep you up to date on everything that's new. I hope you'll consider signing up.
$3.33
I am also activating a paid subscription option, at $3.33 a month (or $30/year), which will gain you access to occasional subscriber-only posts, digital zines, and music playlists (with an emphasis on longform atmospheric music—ambient, drone, improvisation, and the like). This is my version of something like a Patreon: a way for you to support my ongoing work if you find value in it.
If you'd prefer to give me a one-time tip, you can do that too. (archivum manages payments via Stripe.)
As always, thanks for reading.
